RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Merge Computer Group, Inc.
(Merge) has recently been selected as a technology partner by the Baptist
Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR) to provide an automated, graduate
and friends placement solution for the seminary.
The web-enabled application will be developed using Microsoft's SQL
Server data base architecture and will be used by the seminary to place
graduates and friends nationwide. The system architecture is designed to
accommodate significant growth and expansion, a feature vital to the
mission of BTSR.

its ever-expanding enrollments and growing graduate levels," said Timothy

Merge to provide this solution through the development of a web-based
solution to match prospective pastoral and church staff candidates with
Baptist churches and other ministry opportunities throughout the United
States, and customized to BTSR's needs."
Merge will employ their signature user-centered methodology throughout
the project, with design and development teams working closely with BTSR
staff. Unlike traditional process automation approaches, Merge will look to
improve some of the client's business processes, ensuring that the
completed system will not only be aligned to the organization's needs, but
also to those personnel charged with using the system every day. The result
will be a system that not only adds significant functionality but improves
the efficiency of existing business processes and workflow.

Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond is a distinctively Baptist
seminary operating within the context of an ecumenical consortium to train
men and women for effective leadership in the various ministries of the
church. Founded in March 1989, the seminary officially opened for classes
in September 1991, with 32 students. This year, BTSR will enroll more than
300 men and women called to train for ministry. In May 2006, degrees were
conferred upon the seminary's fourteenth graduating class. The class
